In response to challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, Western introduced remote proctoring solutions to help us maintain our high
standards of academic integrity while mitigating privacy and data security risks as much as possible.
Remote proctoring is an important tool for those instructors who have determined that proctored assessments are the best way to validate
students' achievement of learning outcomes. For some courses, alternatives such as term papers and essay-format exams would change the
evaluation of certain skills and learning outcomes.
